Claudia Li was founded in 2015 by New York-based designer Claudia Li. Li's womenswear brand defines creativity and true craftsmanship by combining her quirky and artistic design aesthetics and an emphasis on details. Over the past few seasons, Li found that her brand gained attention surrounding a unique play on silhouettes, prints, colors and textures.

With her use of original prints and structural yet beautiful silhouettes, each season Li paints a story to express emotions and abstract experiences into a tangible collection for today’s independent women.

The brand currently shows twice a year during the seasonal Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter New York fashion weeks. In addition to Claudia Li’s online boutique, the brand can be found at Moda Operandi, If Soho (New York), Felt (Chicago), International Gallery Beams (Japan), Isetan (Japan), Maison Noir (Taiwan) and Gallery Opera (Ukraine) among others.

Raised by an artistic family in New Zealand, Claudia Li fell in love with fashion and painting at a young age. Following her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, Li moved to London to pursue her interest in fashion design at Central Saint Martins, and eventually to New York for a MFA in Fashion Design and Society at Parsons School of Design.

Before launching her eponymous label in 2015, Li took on coveted design roles under highly respected designers: Brandon Maxwell for Haus of Gaga, then British designer J.W. Anderson. Known for her unique play on silhouettes, prints, colors and textures, Li’s background in fine arts is visible in her collections which have earned accolades for their craftsmanship, wearability, and sense of artistry.

Li was the winner of the FGI Rising Star Award and a U.S. finalist for the The International Woolmark Prize. In 2017, Li was named a Forbes 30 Under 30 Art and Style honoree. Currently based in New York, Li creates her current collections with the help of her team in the Garment District.
